TVB accused of stealing "A Watchdog’s Tale" story from ATV; TVB fights back in anger

Lately, it has been said that the story of TVB’s “A Watchdog’s Tale” was “stolen” from ATV’s 2007 planned series with the same Chinese title (老友狗狗). Towards this, TVB fights back saying that the first draft was written as early as May 2007. If the story was really stolen, then TVB tells ATV to bring out their “heaven book” to prove it. Yesterday the production crew of “Watchdog” held a press conference to clarify. TVB Director of Foreign Affairs (Tsang Sing Ming) expressed that TVB is angered by the reports, that it is unfair to the story writers and affects their goodwill. TVB is currently discussing with the attorneys of taking legal action against the responsible newspaper publisher that reported this. “Watchdog” writer (Choi Ting Ting) announced the whole creative process of writing the story to the public at the conference yesterday. She expressed that in 2007, the first draft for the series had already been written, at the time entitled “Good Dog On the Beat - 好狗出更”, the story was inspired by her feelings about having a dog as a pet. In May 2007, the production crew thought of using police dogs and the villiage as part of the theme to the series. Ms.
