"Tenchijin" closes at 22.7%
The popular NHK taiga drama “Tenchijin,” starring Satoshi Tsumabuki (28), ended its broadcast run this past Sunday. Ratings for the final episode were 22.7% in the Kanto region and 19.4% in the Kansai region. Overall, the series averaged 21.2% (20% in Kansai) over its 47 episodes. The first episode of “Tenchijin” in January garnered 24.7% ratings in the Kanto area, outperforming last year’s “Atsuhime,” starring Aoi Miyazaki (23), which started out at 20.3%. However, in the end “Tenchijin” could not keep up, falling short of the 24.5% series average achieved by “Atsuhime.”
