Lyricist Toshio Oka dies at 92

Toshio Oka, an accomplished lyricist known for writing hits such as Kazuo Funaki’s “Koukou Sannensei,” died of renal failure at a Tokyo hospital early on Tuesday. He was 92. Yu Inaba named new Junon Superboy

The finals of the 22nd JUNON Superboy Contest were held on Monday. A record 15,491 men entered the competition, and 16-year-old Yu Inaba ultimately claimed the grand prize, impressing a panel of judges that included singer Ken Hirai (37). "Tenchijin" closes at 22.7%

The popular NHK taiga drama “Tenchijin,” starring Satoshi Tsumabuki (28), ended its broadcast run this past Sunday. Ratings for the final episode were 22.7% in the Kanto region and 19.4% in the Kansai region. Overall, the series averaged 21.2% (20% in Kansai) over its 47 episodes. Harumi Inoue’s second child
